Pictures For Purple Mother Of The Bride Dresses

Why wear a purple dress? Because this color can make a straight cut dress or a dress with little or no ornaments look more feminine than navy blue or black. Because when you choose this color for your dress you are making a statement of taste for refinement and luxury. Looking for some proofs? Look at the following pictures for purple mother of the bride dresses. I bet you won’t be deceived!

Without being as austere as black, dark violet gives a lot of cachet to a dress. If you prefer a softer effect for a spring or summer celebration, lilac, lavender, and purple gray are nice shades that will fit with any skin color. Darker shades like eggplant or grapevine will add a dramatic and queenly touch. Purple is originally a mix of red and blue primary colors from which are derived many shades as presented in the following image. I don’t know about you, but I find this color surprisingly diversified in terms of contrasting shades.

A slice of history…

This color is associated with wealth and nobility. This reputation goes far back in history with the roman empire. Producing this tint was very expensive and, therefore, only emperors could afford it. The Tyrian dye (that’s how it’s called) was obtained by grinding thousands of a specific variety of seashell called Murex to obtain one single piece of garment… This illustrates well the grandeur and, I must say, excessiveness of empires.

Accessorizing your purple dress

Go crazy and try matching different styles!

Don’t settle for the kit, break the boundaries! Using the same fabric to match purse and shoes is ok, but that’s why I don’t recommend it. You don’t want to just look “ok”.  You want to look yourself. It can be an eccentric or a sober look, but the overall should not be the manufacture’s choice.

From a practical point of view, not using a predefined set will result in money savings. Choosing accessories that have subtle similarities with the dress you want to wear without being made from the exact same fabric design will give you the possibility to match it with other pieces of clothing. The priceless consequence of this method is a fully customized look that is yours only.

Creating harmony is the key

Now that you decided to create your own personal outfit, you have to make sure that there is a sense of unity between the dress and accessories, a common thread linking it all.

Your topics are very good hitting points from being a bride to mother of the bride. Yes, I love purple and wore that color for my son’s wedding and you are correct that the accessories does wonders when you are wearing purple. Looks very fashionable.
On another point if you don’t mind Criticism is that I feel that there is too much space or your pins(links) are over sized taking up more than needed space on your website, and I also think for readability that each new paragraph topic should be “BOLD”.
Hope you don’t mind my criticsim so take it like a grain a salt…what do I know I truly try to pass on.

Glad you liked it! I know many detractors for this color but I think its lovely. I’m happy to know that you like it too :-).
Thanks for providing your advice. I don’t have an extensive knowledge of WP or programming so it’s really the best I can do for now at least. Guess I’ll get better at this over time. I tried many different styles to improve the way it looks even adding bold characters for title and thought it looked odd with this font.
Thanks for dropping by and please come back to see the evolution of the site!

  • I have always loved the color purple and I totally agree that it does absolutely make for an elegant look. I also think that for the mother of the bride some of the dresses you are showing would make her feel very special.

Thanks Jean! The real challenge when dressing up in the morning or for a special day is to make sure you look your best and still feel true to yourself. Some may like your looks others may not. I don’t know why but purple kind of fits this line of thought: nobody is left unaffected by this color. I love it 🙂
